Purchased
Hey all! I'm finally getting to swatching and posting the ColourPop Holiday 2016 Initial Release Items. By this I mean everything that was available on launch day. I have not gotten any of the additional kits or mini kits yet but if/when I do, there will be a post about it. When I got my order, I was missing one of the kits and I couldn't do a full post without it. Have you guys gotten anything from this collection yet? In the initial launch, there were 3 sets, 4 shadows, 2 highlighters, and 9 lip products. I got everything, as you can see. I have no regrets.
The first set I have here is called Never Not Chillin. There are 6 shadows and they are all so gorgeous. There's even a satin finish and a matte finish shadow in here to create the perfect eye look! I was drawn to this set (and the other 2) because of the cool box that looks like a record. Packaging lately has been amazing and it makes me even more excited to get their stuff!
My favorite from this set would probably have to be Thirsty Girl and Babykins. They're SO shimmery and gorgeous and practically perfect for the Winter season. I'm not usually into pink shades, but this one definitely works for me.
The next set is Kiss and Tell - a set full of Ultra Glossy Lips! As I said with the Hello Kitty collection, I love their glossy lips products and with this set, you get a variety of shades too - like Furry which isn't exactly a sheer shade. Since Furry came in this set, I did not purchase it separately.
Furry and Flatline are unique in that you don't always see these colors in a gloss. If you want to add some color to your lips without worrying too much about staying power, get this kit for those 2 shades alone.
To and From is the last set - it's full of Matte and Matte X Lippie Stix! There are 6 shades total ranging from a perfect neutral to a bold wine shade.
All of these glide on super smooth and with the first 2 swipes, you pretty much get all the color you need. Since these are matte shades, they can tend to be somewhat drying, so if you pair it with any of the sheer Ultra Glossy Lips on top, it should be hydrating enough. Plus, you get to add a little bit of shimmer!
Fanny Pack and Strapped highlighters were the 2 single cheek products at launch. They're both highlighters but maybe some could get away with using Strapped as a blush - maybe mix it with a matte shade to get a good mix without too much shimmer.
Tinsel, Koosh, Just Fur Fun, and Sleigh were the four single shadows included at launch. They are all super gorgeous metallic shades and glide on with ease. Pretty much any ColourPop metallic shadow can be applied with your finger.
Perky, Wild Nothing, Knotty, and Embellish are the Ultra Matte Lip shades that were initially launched. It's a pretty neutral set but the shades really pack a punch. I also love how the tube is frosted for the holiday collection. It adds just a little bit of winter flair.
Bijou, Wink, Kink, and Nonsense. Since Furry was included in the Kiss and Tell set, I did not purchase it separately as I said earlier on in my post. I love the Ultra Satin Lip formula and it's really hit or miss on them drying out my lips. My favorite though is Nonsense. The Ultra Glossy Lip that is sheer but has this amazing iridescent shimmer. WOW! You can wear this alone or on top of any of the matte shades. I'll also be doing a comparison between some of the glosses in this collection and the ones I got from the HK collection.
How many of you are "have-to-have-it" beauty addicts? I'm pretty much one of those people and i will be working hard to get some of the other holiday items they added after the initial launch. My wallet can't take it, haha!
What did you guys end up getting from their holiday collection? Let me know in the comments! Til next time...

ReplyDeleteYES! GO! SHOP!
DeleteSome wonderful things!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a fabulous haul you got there! I love the swatches of the shadows and highlighters. I can't wear the Ultra Mattes and even some of the regular lipsticks coz they are too drying for my sensitive lips but the shades look great
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the Glossy ones? Those are pretty good for me!
DeleteI need to get my hands on Furry... that shade is total perfection!
ReplyDeleteIt's really cool looking! Grab it while it's still 20% off!
DeleteI went back and forth on ordering some of the holiday stuff. I didn't but kind of wish that I had!
ReplyDeleteI worked so hard to hold myself back from buying more ColourPop...and then I say the sale and stocked up. I actually got a couple of these sets and they're so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I'm waiting on getting Furry, but I have a lot of the similar shades in the Ultra Glossy formula. I think I should just GET it.
ReplyDeleteLove the kiss and tell lip gloss set!
ReplyDeleteI held off on ColourPop for now since I've barely made a dent in what I own already. But I love how they've picked up their game with these cute sets. They'd make awesome gifts with this kind of packaging.
ReplyDeleteWow, you did haul a lot! Wonderful colors
ReplyDeleteI actually skipped out on this set. They look really pretty, but not enough products that I prefer to use. I might grab a couple single items based on this though
