China Glaze - Desert Escape
Monday, June 01, 2015
Hello friends! Long time, no see! Well, don't worry because I've got a few good posts for you this week. Let's start the week off with this gorgeous collection from China Glaze - Desert Escape. I love the mix of brights and nudes, creams and shimmers. Of course, they all performed quite nicely. Read on for my thoughts and swatches!
What’s She Dune? is described as a tranquil sandy beige crème. It applied cleanly with no issues. Swatch is 2 coats plus top coat. I think this nude complements my skin tone just fine. I've had some issues with others in the past, but I'd definitely wear this one often.
Don’t Mesa With My Heart is descrobed as a vibrant violet pink crème. This is absolutely gorgeous and again, applied without any issues. Shown is 2 coats and top coat. This is definitely a nice subtle color for summer if you're not ready to jump into those brights.
Rain Dance the Night Away is described as a bright turquoise crème. This has to be my absolute favorite of the set - duh, of course. It's bright, it's vibrant, it's oh-so-creamy, and it applies like a dream. Shown is 2 coats and top coat. It's definitely a color that will get you in the summer mood whether you're hanging out at the pool or going to the beach. This will match a LOT of new summer outfits I've purchased in the past few weeks. LOVE!
Don’t Desert Me is described as an intense fuchsia pearl shimmer. To be honest, this one didn't "wow" me like some of the others. I'm definitely a fan of shimmer and this one is certainly gorgeous, but I just wasn't feeling it. It applied just fine - 2 coats and top coat for the pictures below.
Meet Me in the Mirage is described as a brilliant rose gold metallic shimmer. I love highly metallic polishes like this because even though the formula is pretty thin, it is opaque in just 2 coats. I'm also a little addicted to shiny things. Be careful though, polishes like these WILL show nail imperfections underneath. I'd recommend a ridge filler base coat if you're worried.
The Heat Is On is described as a sunlit red-orange crème. This one seems a bit on the crelly side...just a hint. In any case, I love formulas like this one. It's bright, creamy, and is perfect for this hot summer sun. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the...nail room?

ReplyDeleteMeet Me in the Mirage is the most unusual of the bunch. No one has brought out a pretty rose gold like that in a long time.
