FingerPaints Film Noir Collection
Friday, August 01, 2014
Hey all! Ready for another new collection from FingerPaints? Today's collection is called Film Noir. These limited edition shades are available for the summer and have a very interesting finish - described as a porcelain finish by FingerPaints. All shades are basically matte finish. My swatches include a picture of the matte option and with top coat.
First up is Beautiful Mystery - a dusty gray-blue shade. I had to use 3 coats of this to get it completely opaque. I do love the shade but I'm not sure I like it matter.
With the top coat added, it's sleeker and I definitely love the shine factor. Which do you prefer?
Petal Obsession is a soft pink matte shade. Again, I used 3 coats to make sure I have full and even coverage. Even if your nails are super smooth, you have to be very aware of your application. Brush strokes are slightly visible still. My recommendation would be to take a thicker layer of polish and evenly swipe it down the nail to reduce harsh brush lines.
With top coat added, it definitely looks smoother. Worn either way looks pretty though.
The last solid shade in the Film Noir collection is called Film Noir, haha. I love this one the most of the 3 because it hides imperfections a lot more and because of the rich berry color. I only needed 2 coats for this one and I am so happy with the way it turned out.
I do love it with top coat too but this is definitely a shade I'd rock sans top coat.
Hollywood Decadence is a sweet glitter mix that I used on its own. I only applied 2 coats for the swatches and even though you can still see my nail, I really, really love it. It would be completely opaque with a 3rd coat added. It has a pretty sheer milky base which helps to build the color after multiple layers.
I hope you'll check out these shades from FingerPaints. Which ones would you wear and which ones do you love the most? You can find them at Sally Beauty stores soon for $5.29.
