SinfulColors Holiday 2013
Tuesday, December 24, 2013
Hey guys! Today I have 4 shades from SinfulColors from the Holiday 2013 Collections. There are two to choose from. The first is a Holiday Tinsel set full of bar glitter top coats! The second is a collection of Sheer Lustre Glitter top coats.
The four I chose to review were Cold As Ice, Silver Rainbows, Top Me Off, and 24 karat.
I chose to put Cold As Ice over another wintry color. Shown is 2 coats of Cinderella and 1 coat of Cold As Ice. This is a white bar glitter topper that is pretty thin. I'm not sure how often I'd use this, but during the winter and holiday time it's pretty cool.
Next is Silver Rainbows. This is another bar glitter topper and I have put this over SinfulColors Black On Black. These bar glitters are bigger than the last, as you can clearly see. The base isn't thick, but there is definitely more base than glitter in this mix. I did have to dab a little to get the glitters where I wanted them, but it wasn't too bad. I do love me some holographic glitter!
So, in trying to stick with the holiday theme, I wanted to showcase 24 karat over a green. This one is Last Chance by SinfulColors. The gold glitter topper over the green gives my nails a very subtle shimmer. Obviously over black this 24 karat would definitely pop, but I like it over this hunter green. These microglitters in general aren't going to be a pop in your face, but more of a nice accent to your mani.
Last, we have Top Me Off. Yes, this is supposed to be a glitter TOPPER, but I couldn't resist. Since it is supposed to be added on top of another color, the formula is pretty thin. In order to achieve this look, I painted on 1 coat of Top Me Off. Then, I took a makeup sponge and applied the polish to the sponge. I dabbed the glitter onto my nail from the sponge and I got a pretty opaque glitter look. I kinda prefer it this way, but if you want, you can definitely use this over ANY color to make your mani shine!
So, did these polishes get you in the holiday spirit? Most of these glitter toppers in the collections can be worn all year round. At just $1.99 at Walgreens, you really can't beat it!
If you celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a safe holiday! Happy New Year to the rest of my readers! Stay tuned for a few more posts this week.
