Julie G by Jesse's Girl: Frosted Gum Drops - Swatches

Hello polish friends! This post is going to be more than just a swatch and review post. It's going to be about my journey from the time I found out about these to the day I swatched them.
If you're not one to read much and are just interested in the photos, scroll down NOW. =)
So, the first time I saw these was from work/play/polish when the sneak preview of these was posted on her blog. I knew I had to have them. I had just gotten the Zoya PixieDust collection and was hooked on this textured polish thing.
So, one night I was on the couch watching TV with my husband and saw that Jesse's Girl was doing a pre-order. WHAT?! Well, on my trusty [and not-so-trusty] iPad, I did it! I thought to myself, "YES! I'm going to be a happy camper in a few days!"
Well, as most of you who pre-ordered know, there were some glitches and technical difficulties that required refunds and placing another order. I should mention that the perks of this pre-order was getting all 6 for $20, free shipping, and a free gift. Who wouldn't want all that?
My order was one of the first to be entered, but alas, my not-so-trusty iPad didn't do the proper things on their website so my order wasn't properly processed.
Jesse's Girl kept up on their Facebook page and other social media platforms to let their customers know that they were on it to fix the problems. We each simply had to use the contact form on their site and everything would be peachy keen.
Since this was a pre-order, I was very patient and didn't really care WHEN I got then...just that I got them. This next part is REALLY where Jesse's Girl got me.
Their customer service is PHENOMENAL! I had several emails with both Christine and Cathy from the Jesse's Girl team. They really know how to treat their customers and worked with me to get my account working correctly. I felt like they needed to know that I understood the technical difficulties and that I appreciated every second they were putting in to make me and everyone one of you a satisfied customer.
Apparently my kind words paid off. Several interactions later, I received my Frosted Gum Drops in the mail. Sadly, my order was one of the ones that were sent off without the free eye shadow samples. They had such a successful pre-order that they ran out. Had my order been processed the correct way in the first place, I would have gotten them. You know what? I don't really care. I'm happy to have had the opportunity to get these at ALL and before they were officially released! The polishes were what I was going for and the fact that I had great ladies working on my order was good enough for me.
Ladies [and gents?], if you don't already own a Jesse's Girl product or if you've never ordered from them online, I suggest you do. This is the kind of company I'd love to work for. This is the kind of company I'd love to collab with [a girl can dream, right?!]. Do yourself a favor and buy something from them.
After you see the swatches, I think you just might be convinced to.
[DISCLAIMER] Jesse's Girl had no idea I was going to write all of this and these statements are my own true feelings. Everything was purchased by me and all opinions are my very own.
Now, onto the swatches and my thoughts on the Frosted Gum Drops collection!
They applied like a dream with 2 coats each. The formula allows you to be able to brush the polish exactly where you want it. I am in love with these. They are by far my favorite textured polishes so far!

How does the texture of these compare to OPI's Liquid Sand? Looking at the swatches, they remind me more of those than the Zoya Pixies. Love the colors... I may have to pick up a few :)
ReplyDeleteI like these the most, then Zoya, then OPI. The formula for these is fantastic! You paint 2 coats and you're done! I do like the Zoya because of the subtle color on half of them. Those require 3 coats, though. I'd definitely recommend buying these if you want some nice textured polishes.
DeleteThese look beautiful! so good to hear it all got sorted in the end. Good customer service makes everything better. x
ReplyDeleteYes it does. I will be a repeat customer of Jesse's girl for sure.
DeleteSuch lovely colors :)
ReplyDeleteI have watched Julies videos for many many years and she is one of my absolute favorite youtube personalities :)
I really love the look of these polishes :) I don´t know her irl but I am so proud of her :D
Anyway... I think that Tangerine Dreams, Rock Candy and Crushed Candy are my favorites :)

DeleteGreat swatches! I love these so much, I also preordered them, my free gift was tootsie toe dividers, I never knew about the eye shadow samples lol
ReplyDeleteNo worries though, they could have been thrown at my door in a flaming burlap bag and I still would have loved them <3
I had no idea about the eyedust samples until it was psoted, but really, idc, hahahaha. I'm with you on the burning burlap bag though!
DeleteThese seem to appear darker at the tips, like a gradient mani.Nice effect, or is it just me?
ReplyDeleteI think maybe it's just the lighting? Haha, I'm not sure but either way they are great and I love them!
