Kat Stays Polished | Beauty Blog with a Dash of Life: 1Q32 Instant Gellish Removal

1Q32 Instant Gellish Removal

Sunday, December 16, 2012

Hello everyone! As you may recall, I did a review for 1Q32 on their gel nail polish. I also did a Week 1 update on it with some stamping work.

After 9 whole days with the gel polish on, I was ACHING to do another manicure. I had also seen some chipping on the tips of my nails and decided it was time to take it off!

You can also see my video removal HERE.

So, they have their own gel polish remover, which I did not have, so I wrapped each finger with an acetone-soaked cotton ball and foil. Notice that my pointer finger has nothing. Well, that one peeled off completely, which, in a way, wasn't too bad of a thing.

After I let it soak for about 10 minutes (probably more like 13-15) I removed the foil. I kinda shimmied it off to maybe try and pull off some of the gel polish with it. This is how it turned out:

After maybe 10 or 15 minutes of scraping off the polish from my fingers, I applied cuticle oil and wiped my nails clean with alcohol. As you can see, there isn't much staining at all, and what IS there may be from previous swatches of polish. I still brushed my fingers with a whitening toothpaste and they were back to being a nice white.

So, overall, here are my pros and cons on this product:

PROS:
  • EASY 1-step process
  • Lasts at least one full week (unless your fingers are SUPER active)
  • Gel top coat maintains manicure
  • Lots of colors to choose from
  • Baby.Q bottle is enough for LOTS of manis
CONS:

  • Chips at the tips
  • Can peel off if not applied SUPER thin
  • One bottle of Baby.Q is $24 which might be out of most people's price range.
