Hey look, another palette I finally got that I had been lusting over! I have the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette along with some other great things in this LE set I got from HSN a couple weeks back. I do wish that I had a separate box for my Semi Sweet because all my other palettes like this were purchased individually. Other than that, I pretty much loved everything in this set.
In this set you get the full Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette, a full sized Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer, a full sized Better Than Sex mascara, and a full sized Love Flush blush. I got all of this for about the price of the palette. Since I did use HSN, I was also able to split my payments up which made is a much SWEETER deal!
Here are just a few shots of the products themselves. I'll be getting into each individual product later on. Again, my only complaint is that I didn't have a separate box for my palette like I do my other ones but that's a small price to pay for such an amazing deal. Do you think if I wrote to TF they'd send me an empty box? Haha, worth a shot, no?
Okay, let's get into the palette. This one is interesting because of the blue shades and the Peanut Butter and Caramel shades. These are more orange-toned but still very neutral so that it can be used on most. I never really knew I needed this palette until I had it. I'm also a major hoarder collector of palettes. Once I get started, it's really hard to stop.
Below are some basic swatches - all done without any primer underneath. I really like to do this so you can see how the shadows perform just on their own. If they look good like this, you know they'll be amazing over a primer. Also, not swatching the primer but I will say that I love the TF Shadow Insurance primer. It's one of the regulars I go for when doing my makeup.
In the below swatches for the right side of the palette, the Blueberry Swirl shade was really disappointing in that it looked like it was going to be much brighter. To me, the whole point of this one was for the blue shade. I'm not sure how I use this - maybe using it over primer and using it as a wet shadow instead of a dry one would show of its true beauty.
The next thing I want to talk about is this amazing blush that was in this set. It's the Too Faced Love Flush blush in the shade Justify My Love. I don't think I own a single full sized TF blush and now I have one and it is amazing! The color is so natural and it just blends in with my skin tone so nicely.
Lastly, we have the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara on my eyes. I never show mascara pics - like ever - because sometimes they really don't show much. I have no other makeup on in these pics - JUST the mascara. Can you tell a difference? I have such annoying lashes so I am very picky about my mascaras. This is definitely an improvement over no mascara at all.
Okay gang - what did you think? Was this set worth it? I think it was because for the price of the palette, I got 3 extra wonderful goodies. If you got this or if you have any of these products, let me know how you like them, or even what you don't like about them!
