Tubby Time for Newborns & Infants with Mustela
Wednesday, April 01, 2015
Hello all! Today I have a post for you on little Nat's bath time essentials. I'm going to start out briefly by talking about out routine before we could give her regular tub baths. It only took about 8 days for Natalie's belly button scab to fall off so we didn't have to wait too long before we could start having fun in the tub.
One of our baby shower gifts was this Mustela 4-Piece Newborn Gift Set. It contained a full sized Body Lotion, No-Rinse Cleansing Fluid, Vitamin Barrier Cream, Foam Shampoo for Newborns, and a trial size of Dermo-Cleansing.
During the very first week of Natalie's time at home, we would use the Foam Shampoo every other day and after that we'd give her a full body cleansing with the No-Rinse Cleansing Fluid. I'd pump a little onto a clean washcloth and then wipe her down from top to bottom. After we started her regular tub baths, we'd still use the no-rinse fluid a few days a week if she had really dirty diaper days.
Okay, so now comes the fun part. I don't know who had more fun - me or Nat. All I know is, we LOVE Mustela bath stuff and it smells AMAZING!
Here is the Hydra Bebe facial cream. I use this on Natalie sometimes when her cheeks get a little dry from all her crying and drooling. All you need is a little bit. I did find that it improved her dryness within a day.
The next 3 products I'm going to talk about are tubby time bath products. They're all different but serve the same purpose for your baby - to clean! The first one is a 2-in-2 Hair and Body Wash. It's soap-free and sensitive enough to not sting baby's eyes. Obviously it sounds practical for the busy mom. Anything that's multipurpose is helpful around the house.
Natalie loves bath time. It relaxes her and she loves to be in the warm water.
This is all I used to wash her body. I poured some in my hand and then lathered it up in her washcloth. This was enough for a decent cleaning.
I used a slightly smaller amount to wash her hair. I was actually surprised at how little this lathered up. The scent was also not as strong. At this point, we're really getting into personal preference. I love bubbles and the Mustela scent so I definitely could have used more oomph.
Natalie seemed to be very satisfied with this product.
At Natalie's next bath time, we used the Dermo-Cleansing. This can also be used for the body and hair. Again, if I can use the same product for everything, I'm all for it!
It's not as white as the 2-in-1 formula and it's a bit thinner in consistency. This is also soap-free, sensitive formula so it works well with baby. It lathered up a lot more and I feel like it may have done a better job at cleaning too. It also had that awesome Mustela scent that my entire family just loves!
As you can tell, this was another successful bath for Natalie.
Finally, we have the Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath. I was so excited to try this because...well, who doesn't love bubbles?
This bubble bath starts out as a blue gel. I used a little to begin with but found myself adding two more squirts to the tub.
This was right after the first squirt and as you can see, there aren't too many bubbles yet.
This was after three little blobs of gel. It looks like so much fun and now I want a bubble bath.
Nat was pretty tired on this particular bath night. This happened as soon as she hit the water. I didn't even have a chance to wash her yet!
After her hair was washed, she was down for the count! It was so cute - I didn't want to take her out because I knew how comfortable she was. Needless to say, I think the bubble bath is a winner for the both of us!

I've never used the blue gel, but I have used the other bath products. I love the scent of mustela, but, it didn't agree with my daughter.
