Barielle - Spring Velvets 2014
Tuesday, April 01, 2014
Hey guys! Ready for some Spring shades that aren't pastel but still give you a nice pop of color? Barielle has released 2 Spring sets of polish. This one is called the Velvets which consists of 6 very neutral shades. I'm happy to see a neutral Spring collection. All the swatches are over Barielle Nail Rebuilding Protein base coat and topped with Barielle No Chip Speed Dry top coat.
The first shade I'm going to show you is called Uptown Girl. Barielle calls this a soft beige. I applied 3 thin coats to get even and opaque coverage.
Cream 'N Sugar is a sheer soft beige that's perfect to wear alone or to use for a French manicure. I applied 3 thin coats for the swatches below. If you want to see more of your visible nail line, 2 coats is actually perfect.
Next is My Tan Blazer, a camel color tan that doesn't actually work on every skin tone. This polish is very creamy and very opaque - I was pleasantly surprised. It's not a color I'd wear by itself, but it might make an appearance in some animal print nail art.
My Week Away is a dusty pink with a very subtle shimmer. You can't tell when you look at the bottle, but as soon as you start applying it, you see the shimmer. I actually love that this polish has shimmer. This is 2 coats.
Sexy Mood is a muted magenta polish that gives you a neutral but fun look on your nails. This is 2 coats and it applies very evenly.
A Little Exotic is a muted rusty pink, as Barielle calls it and I really love this color on my nails. It's not too bright of a color but it breaks up the tan and beige theme of this collection. Shown is 2 coats.
So, are you into these neutral shades? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments! Stay tuned for the Spring Vibrants collection! To buy these or any of Barielle's shades, visit their Where to Buy page.
