April 2014 Ipsy Bag
Monday, April 21, 2014
Hey all! Time for another Ipsy bag! So, initially when I opened this bag I was very happy and very excited! These are all things that I would normally use. At this point...I'm only going to use 3 of the items. Keep reading to see which 3 will remain in my permanent stash! As always, I have a breakdown of value and a total value of the bag for the month.
Estimated Value:
- Cover FX Mattifying Primer: Half Size - $19 | Full Size - $38
- MaryKay at Play Jelly Lip Gloss: $10
- Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil: Half Size - $10 | Full Size - $20
- City Color Mousse Shadow: $3.99
- Demeter Fragrance Roll On Perfume Oil: $10
Total: $52.99
Okay, kids. First up is the Cover | FX Mattifying Primer. Not only is this a matte primer but it's supposed to help with acne too. Perfect - I have a tiny bout of acne right now. Well, I tried it out for 2 days and determined that it does NOT keep my face matte. I'm not sure it helped my acne either. It has 1% Salicylic Acid in it but I don't think it was enough to fix any of my problems. I will be going back to my regular primer that actually keeps my face matte all day long.
Next up is the MaryKayatPlay Jelly Lip Gloss in a nude color. I actually really enjoyed this. I don't often wear nude colors on my lips but I think it's good to have nude glosses in your collection. It's good for those days where you're rockin' subtle makeup and you just want to add a little shine to your lips.
We all know I love Urban Decay so this was a no-brainer! I can always use extra liners in my stash so this was okay in my book!
This may be my very first City Color item and I am impressed! Originally I thought this was a loose pigment shadow. Imagine my surprise when I open it up and it's CREAMY! This is a mousse eye shadow and I love it!
This swatch shows a random swipe of just a little bit from the edge of the pot. You can make it as sheer or opaque as you want it it stays put. With a primer, this would look amazing on the eyes!
Lastly, we have a perfume roll on. The last roll on I got I like but I never wore so I gave it to my friend. Well, this one is going to the same friend. I love the smell of jasmine but this just didn't do it for me. It's not bad...it's not horrible...I just didn't like it for me.
Overall, the items that I am keeping/using still add up to more thank the $10 spent this month. I am not disappointed and I still love Ipsy! If you haven't signed up yet, I really suggest doing it! You get to try so many brands and so many products for just $10 a month! Whenever I get something that doesn't work for me, I always give it away. Sign up HERE for next month's Ipsy bag! You won't regret it!
