PSL Cupcakes and PSL Nails - Happy Birthday Becky!
Wednesday, October 09, 2013
Hey guys! So, today was a MAJOR PSL day. If you don't know what PSL means...WHY NOT? PSL = Pumpkin Spice Latte. PSL = the entire meaning of FALL! Except of course if you don't like pumpkin...
Anyway, to start off my morning, when I get to work, I realize that I had left my work keys at home...this meant no coffee for me because I lock up my drawers when I go home for the day. What's a girl to do but get a PSL from Starbucks?!
The second part of my PSL Wednesday are the cupcakes. Say what? Yes, Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes! My work friend's birthday is on Friday but she's taking the day off so we're celebrating tomorrow. She wanted me to bake something with pumpkin in it [baking is one of my absolute passions] and as I was sifting through the internet, I stumbled upon THIS recipe from Building Buttercream's blog - Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes.
Making them was extremely time consuming but I don't care. MY kitchen is a mess but I don't care. These cupcakes taste amazing and...yea, they inspired a mani! Without anymore blabbing, shall we see what I came up with?
For this mani, I used all Zoya polishes. Why? Because of the post they made today on Facebook. Here I used Flynn, Dhara, Chita, and Seraphina.
Here are some quick pictures of the finished cupcakes and my inspiration for this mani. Ohhhhhhh.....aaaahhhhhhhh. YUMMMM!!!!!!!!!
.....And here is my mani!!! So, of course I had to draw a pumpkin, right? I started out by painting all my nails with 2 coats of Flynn. I added top coat on my ring finger and then dotted on Dhara and Chita for my pumpkin. While that was drying, I sponged Dhara and Seraphina over Flynn to mimic a PSL. Dhara and Flynn represent the latte part and Seraphina represents the awesome whip cream on top...and also the fabulous buttercream on my cupcakes!
This was SO easy to do and VERY festive for fall! Maybe give this a try? If you do, post it on my Facebook wall! Have fun looking at the rest of the pictures. If you're a baker too, let me know if you try this recipe. If you take your time, these are totally worth it! Oh, and the recipe doesn't say this, but I totally sprinkled the top with pumpkin pie spice!
Have a fabulous Fall season and enjoy those PSLs!

The mani look amazing, and so does the cupcake ... if it wasn't pumpkin :) Around this time of the year, I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like pumpkin.
