Zoya Fall 2013 Satins Collection
Thursday, August 01, 2013
Hey all! Here I have for you Zoya's Satins Fall Collection. It's full of shimmery, metallic-y and glittery goodness -- even some one-coaters! Below each polish is shown with 2 coats [except where mentioned] and no top coat. Let's begin!
I love coming across gorgeous emerald green polishes like this so I already knew I was going to love it. If you've been following Pantone's color of the year, then you'll certainly want to add this one to your collection. One slight negative about this one -- it does contain some staining properties. I would never have thought that a green this light would do that, but I had some slight stains even after jus a few minutes of being on.
Neve (ZP679) - Sapphire Blue Metallic - (Originally designed for Zang Toi/AW13)
AHHH!!!!! Gorgeous and delightful! I did use 2 coats for this polish but you could easily just apply 1 even coat and it'd be good. Depending on how the light catches this, you get glimpses of purple and pink as well. Staining? Not really on my nails but you should be careful around your cuticles.
Claudine (ZP690) - Meteorite Gray Metallic
One coater alert!!! I don't have many gray metallics and I'll probably never need another one after this. It applies so smoothly and even though it's one coat, it's extremely opaque and doesn't end up streaky.
Mason (ZP692) - Red Violet “Fandango Pink” Metallic - (Originally designed for Zang Toi/SS13)
Mason is a dainty purple-ish pink. It's got a thin formula but is opaque after 2 coats. If you tend to apply your polish really thin, you may need 3 coats of this color to achieve full opacity. I'm starting to love pinks and this color is certainly gorgeous but it didn't WOW me.
Channing (ZP691) - Rust Red Copper Metallic
If you're ever looking for that perfect copper, here it is. I maybe have only one other color like this in my entire polish collection but it still isn't as metallic as this one. This color screams Fall and since here in Florida we really don't have a Fall, I'm glad to have gotten my hands on some sweet Fall colors. This one makes me want to go jump in a pile of freshly raked leaves. =)
SPECIAL EDITION - SATINS TOPPER Maria - Luisa (ZP662) - Sparkling Cellophane Gold Topper (Originally designed for Rafael Cennamo/AW13)
Lastly we have the gold glitter topper. I chose to feature it over Channing because I felt like these two colors fit together the best. I'm glad I chose not to apply this to all 5 of my fingers because it would have taken lots of layers. For my ring finger, I applied one coat of MAria Luisa and then sponged on the rest of the glitter so that I wouldn't have a thick layer of polish. Then I sponged it on the rest of my fingers in a messy gradient.
All of the glitters dry flat so you wo't have too much texture on the nail. You may have to apply 2 coats of top coat if you want a completely smooth nail. I don't have anything like this and I'm thinking some "gold leaf" inspired nail art is in order.
These polishes are available for purchase at $8 each or $48 for the Sampler. Are you going to pick some up? Visit Zoya.com to order yours today!
Which color is your favorite??? Mine is a toss up between Channing and Claudine...leaning more towards Channing. =)
