NailNation 3000 Polish: An Oldie but Goodie!
Friday, May 03, 2013
Hey everyone! Today I have for you NailNation 3000 polish in Sock Monkey. Sock Monkey is just one of those colors that works. In some light it looks pink--in others it looks grayish like a sock monkey.
The minute I set eyes on this color, I knew I had to have it. It looks amazingly like what a sock monkey would look like if it was bottled up. It's a creamy, milky base with shiny red glitters, small black and white glitters, and silver reflective hex glitters.
I applied Sock Monkey in 2 even coats with NN3 Skunk base coat and the Special Top Coat (for stamping).
The Skunk is a GREAT base coat because it seriously reduces chipping and bonds the polish to your nail. I've compared this to my Orly Bonder and this is, by far, the best base I've come across.
Check out a few swatches below!
For another something extra, and to have a reason to use the Special Top Coat, I stamped a cute little bow as an accent. I used a plate from the 3rd Bundle Monster set. I love this set the best of the 3 and I hope to continue to grow my BM stamp collection.
NN3 describes this top coat as, "...a quick set airbrush and stamping topcoat that also gives a strong shimmery shine in sunlight. Also amazing for crisp clean French manis."
Last, but not least, make sure your stamped image is COMPLETELY dry or you'll have a little bit of smearing. No worries if you do, though. It'll still look pretty!
Although this color is no longer in stock, you can visit the NailNation FB page for swatches of new and current colors as well as the NailNation 3000 online shop.
Maria from NailNation also has some cuticle oils and a new matte top coat for sale. I don't have any yet, but I hear they are amazing!!!
Let me know what you think of this in the comments below! Have a wonderful weekend and happy polishing!
