1. Use colors that will show up. If they are too similar, it will take away from the "marbled" look.
2. Use a clean piece of saran wrap for each nail.
3. Make sure your base color is COMPLETELY dry before you play with the 2nd color. If it's not dry, you could lift off the base color.
4. Have fun! You can't really mess it up. Each look will come out different. You're an artist!

HI!!!!!!!!! How is everyone??? Today is a quick post about dot gradient manicures. So, the first one I ever did was because of an idea from my friend, Lo. She suggested I do a teal dot gradient over a neutral color. I did it and I was so happy with the result.

Last month, I did a pink one for a Valentine's Day idea. It was an ALL PINK dot gradient but I kinda liked it.

Today I have a purple dot gradient for you. I also made this into a video tutorial for anyone who was interested. Please check it out below the pictures.

Good morning! Hope you're having a great Tuesday! Today I have for you 2 polishes from Pomegranate Nail Lacquer's new collection, "Royal Fairy Tale."

The two I wanted to try was Book of Spells and Frolicker. Book of spells is described as a "rich bronze crème" and Frolicker is described as a "merry marigold-yellow crème."

I don't have many yellow or bronze polishes so these were perfect. I'll also add that I love these new bottles. =)

I'll start with Frolicker. I was REALLY hoping that this would be a 2-coater because most yellows aren't. This one almost did it.

When you open the bottle, it looks soooooo creamy and opaque. I used 2 even coats, but then I had to do a very thin third coat to cover up just a few spots.

Overall, I do love this color. It's so bright and really does make you think of marigolds. I'm happy with this choice.

Book of Spells is everything I thought it would be and more. It applies easily and in just 2 coats, you've got a great looking manicure. It's classy, it's subtle, and it's beautiful. It's also a great color to wear to work if your job doesn't appreciate loud manicures.

So, of course I had to do a spun sugar mani with these two colors. It's my latest obsession. Pomegranate nail lacquer is Kat-approved for the spun sugar method. =)

Okay, so, if you haven't seen my original spun sugar mani tutorial, what are you waiting for?! It will help you perfect your technique so that you can do the same with holographic polishes.

If you're familiar with holographic polish, you know that it has a different consistency than regular polish. Some holographics have a gloppy consistency and that can make it difficult to use for spun sugar nails.

The pictures below will show you what you need to look for when drying out your polish to use for the spun sugar.

Holos used:

• Color Club Halo Hues Kismet (pinky)
• Color Club Halo Hues Eternal Beauty (ring)
• Color Club Halo Hues Miss Bliss (middle)
• Color Club Halo Hues Over the Moon (pointer)
• Color Club Halo Hues Harp On It (thumb)

These two images are at the midpoint stage to where you can begin "spinning." The thread does not stretch high enough so you won't necessarily get the long, thin strands you need for this look.



Here you are ready to go. Even though the image on the left shows it a bit thick, when you stretch it higher, it gets thinner. You'll have to work rather quickly because strands can begin to break.
