Happy Friday! This is probably one of the more difficult challenges I've had so far. My friend Kelly LOVES mint green polish. She probably has at least a dozen different mint greens in her stash. I probably didn't help much the day I got her like...3 or 4 of them.

Let me cut to the chase. I needed/wanted melmers for my polish instead of putting them in my nail polish desk drawers. I knew we'd be running errands today and checked the Michael's website to see what the weekly coupon was. 50% off! That's what I found.

The first Michael's I went to had none of the 3-drawer models I was looking for. Luckily, there are several Michael's stores in my area. The 2nd one I went to had a bunch of them. They were also 40% off which meant no coupon.

They are originally priced at $39.99 where I am. After the sale price, I paid only $23.99 for each.

They are not assembled, but it was so easy to do...just a little time consuming for my tiny, weak hands, lol.

When the first one was complete, I was so proud of myself. After the second one was complete, I felt like I had just finished climbing Everest or something. Okay...maybe not THAT extreme, but I was happy I had no help putting them together.

The only thing I'd say to anyone who does not have this yet is the bottoms are not balanced. If you fill the drawers, you will have to support the bottom while you browse your polish. I guess this is the "con" versus the IKEA helmers which are metal and can probably support each drawer individually.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a fantastic weekend! Today I'm going to show you a recent giveaway win from Daily Lacquer.

She had a flash giveaway about 2 weeks ago and I was one of 3 who got to choose a polish from her store.

As always when trying to make a polish decision, I had 3 in mind and couldn't choose. I called my husband over and he picked out Makoto. It's a beautiful green and pink glitter overcoat. I'm not really a pink fan, but I think this was okay and not overdone.

Generally, I think glitter polished are SO pretty in the bottle but when you try to apply it, you've gotta fish out what you REALLY want on your mani. It was the same with this polish, but I still love it. I used two coats of Makoto over the 2 coats of the OPI polish.

So, we took the grandmother hostage today! She has not been to our use yet since she's been down here, so while the in-laws are here, we had a mini ladies day.

My mother-in-law made beautiful chopped salads for lunch and then we took a small coffee break. Next come the manis!

I whipped out my swatch sticks for grandma to look at. We ended up with a holographic, yay! We did China Glaze Fireside Glow for the mother-in-law.

Friday Fan Pick: Nicole

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope you have lots of food, fun, and family planned for today!

This mani was definitely a challenge. The original idea was to do leaves in brown over red, orange, and yellow. After doing several trial-and-errors, I basically gave up. I told myself I'd have to come up with something better.

Since it IS Thanksgiving, I decided to do a turkey. This couldn't be a normal looking turkey mani either. It had to be something a little bit different.

I ended up doing a turkey across 3 fingers. The feathers were originally going to be hand painted on and then I had an idea. I'd been wanting to do the fan brush technique for a while and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. My turkey's feathers were fanned on.

The lighting on these pictures turned out poor, but you get the general idea.

It's FRIDAY!!!! There are many times where I have no idea what to do on my nails. Thankfully, I have friends and fans that give me ideas.

Today at lunch, I asked my good friend Shoni [go check out her music page] to give me 2 or 3 colors for another mani. She told me red, purple, and gold. As soon as she said that, I knew what I wanted to do.

For this mani, I used Color Club Red-ical Gypsy, ULTA Devious, and Orly Luxe. I used a sponging technique and then stamped over it with Shany plate SH20.

*be careful sponging red. it likes to stain.*

Friday Fan Pick: Shoni

Happy Thursday! Let me start off by saying thank you for reading and following my blog. TJ's Thursday pick is a new weekly series where I have my husband choose a stamping plate and colors for me to do a design.

Way back when, if I had trouble figuring out what I wanted to do on my nails, I'd ask him, he'd tell me, and it would actually turn out looking good!

Tonight, he chose a Scorpio theme with black and gold. We are both Scorpios and it's still the Scorpio's time so it's only fitting.

I hope you like this and decide to try it out using the same techniques.

To tide you over until tonight, here is my current mani. I haven't stamped in quite a long time, so I decided to dust off my scraper and stamper and get to it! Here's what it looks like if you haven't already seen it from my Facebook page.



I used Color Club Harp On It, Shany plate SH21, and Konad Special Polish in black.

Last night there was a massive nail page picture sharing frenzy. Luckily, I had several pages share this picture and I was THRILLED when I saw the results. I hope to bring you more beautiful manis in addition to giveaways and haul pictures.
