Here's another gel polish for you! This one is NOT a one-step gel polish system.
Some of you may be familiar with this brand. It's called Red Carpet Manicure and can be found at stores like Ulta and Target for about $10 a bottle.
The people at Red Carpet Manicure sent me a complete starter kit. Below is the box I received and the contents in the starter kit.
So now that you've seen what you can get, I'll explain the entire application process. You can also view my application video HERE.
So to start, like all the gel polishes, I buffed my nails and made sure they were free from dirt, oil, and anything else that might get in the way of the polish.
The nice thing about these buffers is that they stuck to the end of the cuticle pusher. It was nice being able to have a little more control over where my buffer went.
Now here comes the time consuming part of it. Since the kit only came with a portable light, the cure times were double what the professional light offers. Here is the break down:
The application process is very similar to regular nail polish. You have your base coat, your color, and your top coat. The formula for all of these steps was pretty perfect. Not too thick and not too thin. It was very manageable and easy enough for anyone to do.
The only thing that bothered me was the long wait times for each step. Since you can't do your thumbs at the same time as your finger, it does take a bit longer. Not including application time, this is about 20 minutes just for curing.
Here is the final look after all that waiting.
I WILL say that the wear time for this polish is PHENOMENAL! I have had them on for about 5 days now and there is NO sign of chipping whatsoever. I'll be doing my removal video for this soon and hopefully that process won't disappoint me either.
I hope you find this review and post/video helpful. Thanks to RCM for letting me review this product! I had a lot of fun doing it and I plan on getting some more colors myself later one. Maybe some cool glitter ones!
